EDUCATION
AND TRAINING
Promotes the professional development of library personnel by
organising lectures, workshops, seminars and visits to libraries and
information units.
RESEARCH
AND PUBLICATION
Produces the publications of the
Association and encourages research in areas of interest to the
profession.
MEMBERSHIP
AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Addresses the issues of status and
salaries of librarians and other persons working in libraries in
Jamaica, whether in the public sector, private sector, colleges or
schools.
PUBLIC
RELATIONS
Communicates policy and promotes the activities of the Association
to the general public and the membership.
FUND-RAISING
Organizes events to assist with financing the ongoing programmes of
the Association.
INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY
Promotes the use of
Information and Communications Technologies in libraries and
provides members with the opportunities to develop competencies
using ICT.
