Flash Backs 1957 At the Regular Meeting Held at the St. Mary Parish Library,
Port Maria on the 10th October 1957 in an address by Mr. Morris
Cargill on education “Librarians should therefore try to fight the
spreading cancer of materialism and help people to find out the
fundamental purpose of life.” 1958 The Executive Committee met only once for the year on 28th
March 1958. The next meeting
was held on January 5, 1959. 1960 January 28, 1960 held at IOJ at 5:00 p.m. at the AGM. Mrs.
Joyce Robinson declined the nomination as she felt that there were too
many JLS representatives on the Committee.
Miss D. Douglas offered to “step down” to allow Mrs. Robinson
to serve but this was also declined.
Mr. Terence Goldson accepted and was elected. 1964 Four(4) Working Parties named as a result of the 10 charges
given at the AGM. by the President Joyce Robinson. The Chairman were invited to attend Executive Committee Meetings: Ø
